You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Using Roll Bag Template from Shape EZ
as I have a bit of an obsession with storage and boxes!

SamanthaMy favourite anything but a card has to be crochet
I chose to Crochet a fox as I love to crochet and

so this is why my anything but a card was an easy choice for me.

Carol

I like making wall hangings as little pressies, just to say I'm thinking of you.

Mojca

For me it must be muffins. If I don't do a box for them, I am just satisfied with a card shaped as a muffin ;)

Sarah

I've made a slip cover box, which is really easy to make  and makes a change from a conventional box. It also makes brilliant use of those "special" double sided papers that we have in our stash!!

Suzette

I do love shapes as it is different from your every day square and rectangular cards.

Wilma
What I also like to do is make small gifts.
I save all sorts of packaging and pimp them up.
I bought this clothes peg for that purpose.

So now it's over to you.

We hope you will join in our challenge, show us your style and
showcase your Favourite Project that's not a Card (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

Hugs from the AYLI girls.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favourite CAS (Clean & Simple) or Fussy (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

First up we have a Special Guest Designer this week.
The lovely and super talented Squirrel is playing along with our usual crew and she has some fabulous inspiration for you :

Squirrel
Am I an artist?
Technically, no, I can’t draw for toffee, but I am a colourist and, despite opinions to the contrary, this is an art-form in its own right.

I find that there is something magical, almost meditative, about taking a black and white line drawing and breathing life into it with colour, light and shade.  I can spend hours with inks and brushes, losing myself in the joy of seeing something transform by my own hand.  I can often come back to a coloured image after a couple of days and find it hard to believe that I created it.  A dear friend calls it a “warm glow” effect, and I cannot disagree with that.

So why clean and simple instead of fussy and fancy?  After spending hours painting, the last thing I want to do is hide the image under a ton of fluff, I want it to be front and centre and allow the artwork to sing solo and be heard rather than being a small voice in the back row of a large choir.

Wow, beautifully said Squirrel.
Thank you SO much for joining us this week.

Although I'm really starting to give the CAS style some effort, I'm definitely naturally more of a fussy kind of crafter.  I particularly love this design which is themed throughout, from the apron card-shape, the lemon papers and of course the baking bear image.  With some rose rolled organza ribbon, gorgeous satin ribbon, pearls and a shaped tag, it's not as fussy as some of my makes, but certainly doesn't qualify as CAS!

**on a break**

Carol

Well I would have to say its kinda  fussy  considering CAS usually is mostly as little amount of layers and embellishes as possible. Think this was plenty of fussy for this country wee cutie. Love layers of pretty papers and the embellishes to compliment my image and depends on the image how far I go dressing my card up.

Mojca

It just has to be fussy for me I guess, although I like to do CAS as well ... oh well I've don this cute fussy box full of muffins for my aerobics teacher, it's a really healthy recipe too ;) (head on to my blog for the link to the recipe) I really love to decorate this kind of boxes, and add different kinds of lovely papes, so yes absolutely fussy is for me :P

Sarah

Help!! I don't know what I am!! I don't usually add embellishments so that my cards stay flat for posting (CAS?) but on the other hand I am a paper addict and generally use layers (fussy?). So, you see I am confused...I know...you decide!!

Suzette

Wilma
This is difficult, but when I look deep into my heart then my preference is for CAS. I love it when you're with very few resources can make a big impact. It is not always easy, because I tend to fill in the blanks.

So now it's over to you.

We hope you will join in our challenge, show us your style and
showcase your Favourite CAS or Fussy (& why).
